Approximate annual stroke risk by score (commonly cited estimates): 0 = 0%, 1 = 1.3%, 2 = 2.2%, 3 = 3.2%, 4 = 4.0%, 5 = 6.7%, 6 = 9.8%, 7 = 9.6%, 8 = 6.7%, 9 = 15.2%. Guidelines generally suggest anticoagulation should be considered at a score of ≥2 in men or ≥3 in women, with individualized risk-benefit assessment (including bleeding risk) — this tool does not replace guideline review or clinical judgment.
